Guyana and Japan Meet on Water, Mining

Guyanese President Bharrat Jagdeo met Tuesday with Japanese Ambassador Tatsuaki Iwata to discuss the finalisation of several projects, including rehabilitation works on the East Demerara Water Conservancy.

According to Iwata, the two also discussed the possibility of future collaboration between the two countries in several industries, including investment, agriculture and minerals.

Most recently, the two countries partnered on a $7.9 million water treatment plant in Corriverton.
