Antigua will open a new 30-megawatt power plant in Crabbes this Thursday supplied by the Chinese government.

“Antigua, God’s willing, should have no more problems with electricity,” said non-resident ambassador to China David Shoul. “When the Chinese generator comes online, the capacity of the power generation in Antigua will be sufficient to meet our needs regardless of the size of future developments.”

The plant is now owned by Antigua’s APUA company.

The official handing-over ceremony will take place Thursday afternoon.
