The United Nations is encouraging political actors in Haiti to work on a finding a consensus after lawmakers again rejected President Michel Martelly’s choice for a new prime minister. “MINUSTAH is concerned about the absence of a government in Haiti for almost three months,” the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti said in a statement. “This limits the State’s ability to implement its programmes, to guide the reconstruction process and to meet its responsibilities towards the people of Haiti.”
