The recent crash of a Caribbean Airlines flight at Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International Airpot could disrupt the Guyana Ministry of Agriculture’s plan to increase the size of its agriculture exports shipped by air freight.
“The assurance I got from the CEO [of Caribbean Airlines] by the way of a letter was that starting July 31st that they were going to put on a freight dedicated to looking at ago exports,” said Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud. “It’s sad that the disruption came at a time when the ministry was assured that the airline was putting a freighter in place to assist us.”
With the disaster the airline is facing, along with ongoing probes, the crash could disrupt the plan.
