Jamaica Signs Deal on Solar Testing

The Jamaican Cabinet has approved an agreement for GreenRG Management to introduce, test and research its solar technology across the country.

GreenRG has volunteered to test its technology for streetlights, buildings, water pumps and other infrastructure, and it will not cost the government.

“The agreement with GreenRG is intended to facilitate a pilot project,” said Information and Technology Minister Daryl Vaz.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed with GreenRG requires it to provide reports of audits of the program every six months to the government. The company also must register the patents for its technology in Jamaica and share its carbon credits with the government.

GreenRG is an energy management company based in the United States.
