Haitian President Michel Martelly marked the beginning of a series of reconstruction projects in Port-au-Prince, calling the launch “Reconstruction Week.” “We will soon begin the construction of buildings to house public institutions at the Rue du Champs de Mars,” he said in a statement. “Once the government is put in place, everything will be implemented and the country will start the final path of modernity as desired.” [Defend Haiti]
