After his first choice for prime minister was rejected, Haitian President Michel Martelly has chosen Bernard Gousse, a former justice minister in the interim government formed after the ouster of Jean-Bertrand Aristide in 2004. “He’s an honest man. He has experience in public administration,” said Thierry Mayard-Paul, chief of staff for Martelly. “We believe that Mr Grousse can drive this country out of its turmoil.” Martelly’s first choice was Daniel Rouzier, a businesman.
