Heads of Government Meet in St. Kitts

CARICOM is convening its Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community today in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis. The conference began last night with an opening ceremony addressed by new Haitian President Michel Martelly and Desire Bouterse, president of Suriname. The conference conferred the Order of the Caribbean Community on Sir Edwin Carrington, former secretary-general of CARICOM and current Trinidad Ambassador to CARICOM.
