The Bahamas Maritime Authority is in Hong Kong as part of an promotional initiative across Asia, with a high-level delegation meeting with senior Chinese officials in the Ministry of Transport last week. The visit was an attempt to establish a relationship between the Bahamas, which has one of the world’s largest ship registries, and China, which is a major power in the shipbuilding industry. The BMA delegation was led by Chairman Ian Fair, Deputy Chairman Peter John Goulandris, Commodore Davy Rolle and Malcolm Keast, regional director for Hong Kong.
