Trinidad Works Minister and FIFA Vice President Jack Warner has resigned from FIFA, in addition to leaving his other posts as head of CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union. Accordingly, the investigation into alleged bribery charges against him has been dropped. “As a consequence of Mr Warner’s self-determined resignation, all Ethics Committee procedures against him have been dropped and the presumption of innocence is maintained,” the organization wrote in a statement. The announcement followed another that the Belize Football Federation had been suspended yesterday. “His resignation has been accepted by world football’s governing body, and his contribution to international football and Caribbean football in particular and the CONCACAF confederation are appreciated and acknowledged,” FIFA said.
