Irwin LaRocque: Youth Key to Integration

CARICOM Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, said the region’s youth would be critical to the success of Caribbean integration. According to LaRocque, who was speaking last week in Antigua and Barbuda at a pan-Caribbean student conference, approximately 63 percent of the Caribbean’s population are under 30. He said the secretariat was “committed to undertaking a series of initiatives aimed at empowering and positioning young people to take advantage of and contribute to regional integration.”
