Jamaican Governor General Set to Receive Commission of Enquiry Report

Jamaican Governor General Sir Patrick Allen is scheduled to receive the report from the Manatt Commission of Enquiry today, and pressure is mounting from the opposition People’s National Party concerning the content of the report. The report was previously set to be delivered May 16, following two extensions, but the report was still not ready. “The report was always going to be important but one has to anticipate and plan for two positions — one where the report reflected the proceedings in an accurate way and one where it didn’t,” said K.D. Knight, lead attorney for the opposition People’s National Party. [Jamaica Gleaner]
