Trinidad Minister Removed from Office

Following increasing pressure over an allegedly improperly awarded government contract, the appointment of Trinidad Sen. Mary King, the Minister of Planning, Restructuring and Gender Affairs will be revoked today. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar met with the nation’s president today to speak about the evidence against King, in which “new evidence came to light.” According to Persad-Bissessar, she will write a request to the president today to formalise King’s removal.
