In an important boost for the island of Grenada, American Airlines has announced plans to launch a new route to the Spice Isle.
The carrier is launching a new route from Charlotte to Grenada beginning this winter.
That service, which will operate weekly, year-round on Saturdays, will launch Dec. 21.
“This route is a testament to our high confidence in and commitment to the Grenada market,” said Alex McIntyre, analyst in international network planning for American Airlines.
American will be operating the service on Airbus A319 aircraft with 128 seats, according to the company.
“Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean is happy with the confidence shown by American Airlines in our destination and we look forward to the continued growth of our partnership to developing this and other routes in the future,” said Clarice Modest Curwen, Grenada’s Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
