It’s the second Costa Mujeres resort for Riu, which opened its Riu Dunamar in the fast-growing development at the end of last year.

Amenities at the new-build resort include five swimming pools (two featuring swim-up bars), a private beach area, a Renova Spa, 24-hour room service, an on-site kids’ club, free Wi-Fi and six restaurants.

Guests at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres also have access to the aforementioned Riu Dunamar, including attractions like the Splash Water World water park and the Dunamar’s nightclub.

That’s along with access to facilities at all of Riu’s other Cancun resorts, including the Riu Palace Peninsula, Riu Caribe, Riu Cancun and Riu Palace Las Americas.

“We are delighted to be offering our customers even more resort choices in the latest tropical destinations,”  said Andrew Dawson, president of tour operations for Sunwing, which is a major partner of the property. “The new Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is a great addition to our lineup of top-rated properties in the up and coming and highly sought-after luxury enclave of Playa Mujeres.”

The Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is directly adjacent to the Riu Dunamar.

Costa Mujeres, which is on the mainland across from the chic islet of Isla Mujeres, has become a hub for hotel development in the Mexican Caribbean.
