A new Paradisus-branded resort is coming to the Mexican Caribbean.

The new Paradisus Playa Mujeres is Melia Hotels International’s newest project in the region, with plans to open later this year in the Playa Mujeres area on the outskirts of Cancun.

The new Paradisus Playa Mujeres “will incorporate the new vision and philosophy of the brand, defined as “nature included”, the result of a major review and creative rebirth built around ideas including sustainability and harmony with nature,” the company said in a statement this week.

The property will feature 498 rooms, with a special adults-only enclave, along with four pools, six bars and seven restaurants, including an eatery devised by Michelin-star chef Martin Berasategui, best known in the Caribbean for his work at the Paradisus Palma Real.

The property will also include a convention center with capacity for 1,500 people and four smaller business-oriented spaces.

It will be the fourth Paradisus-branded property in the Mexican Caribbean, and the sixth in the Caribbean.
