USVI Looks to Expand Water Taxi Service

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 13, 2017

The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Department of Property and Procurement is welcoming proposals for a qualified operator to provide transportation services in the Charlotte Amalie Harbor in St. Thomas.

Bidders are asked to submit proposals to provide water transportation between Crown Bay, Water Island, Havensight/Yacht Haven Grande and Downtown Charlotte Amalie.

The service will provide residents and visitors with direct, convenient access to the Downtown Charlotte Amalie area, as a minimum, on days when cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in the harbor.

Applicants are requested to submit proposals on the basis of the scope of work in the RFP.

Any exceptions to the requirements requested must be clearly noted in writing and be included as part of the proposal.

The successful operator will enter into an Operating Agreement with the Government of the Virgin Islands for a term of three years from the execution date with an option to extend for an additional two years at the sole discretion of the Government of the Virgin Islands.
