Sun Country Adding Nonstop Aruba Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 11, 2017

Sun Country Airlines is adding new nonstop flights to the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba.

The carrier has announced new nonstop flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and Aruba.

The flights are set to launch beginning Dec. 2017 through April 2018 via Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

“Airlift is imperative to Aruba’s continued tourism success — and this new weekly nonstop service out of Minneapolis/St. Paul accommodates the travel demands of U.S. travelers, who have shown an increased propensity to visit our island in recent years,” said Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority. “Aruba appreciates its growing partnership with Sun Country Airlines, and looks forward to introducing new visitors to our warm hospitality, authentic culture and world-famous beaches.”

The service will operate weekly on Saturdays, according to the carrier.

“With the addition of Aruba to our destinations, we look forward to giving our Midwest travelers the opportunity to travel to an internationally renowned Caribbean island in the midst of our winter season,” says Zarir Erani, Sun Country Airlines President and CEO. “We are eager to begin partnering with Queen Beatrix International Airport so our travelers can experience everything the island has to offer.”
