Expedia’s Most Popular Caribbean Destination Right Now

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 20, 2016

What’s the most popular Caribbean destination on Expedia right now? It’s Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which was the most in-demand destination on the company’s network in the second quarter of 2016.

Punta Cana was followed by San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the Expedia Group’s latest report.

The fastest-growing destination in the Caribbean was Ocho Rios in Jamaica, which saw 45 percent growth in package demand, followed by 30 percent growth for San Juan and 30 percent for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

That was followed by Paradise Island in the Bahamas, which saw 15 percent growth.

“The Caribbean continues to report demand growth across the board as hotel partners continue to use our platforms and technology offerings to reach their intended audience and increase sales,” said Demetrius Canton, Director of Market Management for the Caribbean at Expedia. “The Expedia group’s cutting-edge mobile applications allow travelers to plan their trips and book in a convenient, flexible way, and now with applications available to partners like EPC Conversations, partners can ensure positive reviews and great customer satisfaction.”
