Another Nickelodeon Hotel Is Coming to the Caribbean

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 18, 2016

Karisma Hotels and Resorts and Viacom International have broken ground on a second Nickelodeon-branded hotel in the Caribbean.

The new Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Riviera Maya is slated to debut on Mexico’s Caribbean coast in December 2017.

The company is set to open its first Nickelodeon hotel in Punta Cana this summer.

The new Riviera Maya property will include 288 swim-up and infinity suites, each with its own pool on a private terrace or balcony.

The property will include many Nickelodeon characters and Nickelodeon twists like “surprise slimings.”

The five-star all-inclusive resort will also include six gourmet restaurants, four bars and lounges, a spa and two main six-story buildings, all set between mangroves, palm trees and a white-sand beach.

“We have been thrilled with the overwhelming response to Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts’ combination of luxury and playfulness, and are excited to announce a second international property for guests looking to enjoy an unforgettable upscale vacation,” said Gerald Raines, Senior Vice President, Global Recreation for Viacom International Media Networks.

As part of the hotel, there will be entertainment for all guests within “Nickelodeon Place,” with opportunities for kids to meet characters like Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants, and even a kids’ spa.

“Karisma Hotels & Resorts has a rich history in the Riviera Maya and we are eager to invite guests of all ages to experience the beauty of the destination anew along with the adventures and surprise elements uniquely afforded by Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts,” said Armando Chomat, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Karisma Hotels & Resorts.
