Delta Launches New Flights to Cartagena, Colombia

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 26, 2015

Delta has launched its newest route: service from Atlanta to the Caribbean coastal city of Cartagena, Colombia.

The service will operate thrice weekly, with flights on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“Delta wants to be the best US airline in Latin America by providing a comprehensive route network that meets our customers’ needs, whether they want to relax by the beach or do business around the world,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta’s vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean. “Our new routes in Colombia are the latest in a series of enhancements and a sign of our steadfast commitment to our customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Delta’s new service is part of a wider expansion to the Caribbean region that has included new flights to St Croix and the Bahamas out of Atlanta.

Cartagena has been one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in the Caribbean region, with a significant amount of new hotel development.

Cartegena has also seen the launch of new flights from JetBlue out of Fort Lauderdale as the destination has grown in prominence.
