St Kitts’ airport now has a private air terminal — and a new arrival and departures lounge.

The new private terminal officially opened its doors on Friday, and is now welcoming guests.

It includes a high-end arrivals and departures lounge by the YU firm (along with a crew lounge), which will be available for use by private jet passengers and for commercial passengers for a fee.

The terminal is a joint venture between the government of St Kitts, the St Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority and the Veling Group.

“With a number of strategic tourism-related capital projects underway, including the upcoming opening of the upscale Kittitian Hill Resort, this new Private Terminal at the RLB International Airport is debuting at the ideal time,” said St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt. “This facility now gives our twin-island destination a competitive edge in appealing to the discerning luxury market that requires the world-class, customer-centric service it provides.  I am pleased that our visitors will now have the option for such a luxurious arrival and departure experience, almost as if their resort or villa accommodation experience has begun and ended at the Airport itself.”
The facility and the YU lounge are located west of the main parking apron at the airport.

The building was designed by Bobby Mukherji & Associaest and built by local firm Lenox Warner & Associates.
