The Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino in San Juan has named Jannette Berríos its new executive chef, the property announced Monday.

Berríos has worked across the hotel industry, with stops at the Ritz-Carlton New York, the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta and Norwegian Cruise Lines, among others.

She was most recently the executive chef at the La Concha Renaissance Resort in San Juan.

“We’re elated to introduce Jannette’s fresh culinary vision to our guests,” said general manager Randall Ha, in a release. “Her expansive knowledge in luxury fine dining brings a refreshing perspective to our corner of the Caribbean.”

Berríos, will oversee the hotel’s three restaurants, including the Pool Bar & Grille, District Bar and Choices restaurants.

“Building off of my zeal for exploring new flavors without losing the importance of local traditional, I am anxious to add an element of surprise to menus across the property to keep guests and locals alike coming back,” Berríos said.

The property said she would be adding several new dishes to the menu, including Mofongo Gnocchi, Pollo “Montadito” and a “Deconstructed Apple Pie a la Mode.”
