St Lucia has its newest beach bar, with the opening of the Naked Fisherman Beach Bar & Grill at the Cap Maison resort.

The new bar is located on the property’s Smuggler’s Cove beach. It’s the brainchild of Chef Craig Jones, who helms the Cliff at Cap restaurant at the resort.

The resort calls it a “modern take on the classic Caribbean beach shack,” with a grill-centric menu including dishes like grilled island catch with pumpkin and coconut curry and grilled spiny lobster tail with ital rice.

The resort said the name comes from the way many local fishermen prefer to fish — “stark naked,” on small skiffs.

Jones, who recently headed to New York for a two-night stint at the City Grit supper club, is launching a series of “Chef’s Table” dinners at Saman House, the owner’s house next to Cap Maison.
