Puerto Rico is presenting a new face for its tourism market — with a little help from TripAdvisor.
The island unveiled a new global marketing strategy this week, calling the destination the “All Star Island.”
It’s the first major initiative for the board since the country’s new government led by Alejandro Garcia Padilla took over in January 2013 following his election at the end of 2012.
The campaign also includes an overhauled Web site, which features a heavy focus on user-generated reviews and comments about their experiences in Puerto Rico.
As part of the campaign, Puerto Rico will be unveiling a series of videos featuring TripAdvisor reviews narrated by Puerto Rican celebrities.
The first video, above, features a TripAdvisor review of a visit to the El Yunque Rainforest, narrated by actress Roselyn Sanchez.
