St Lucia’s Discovery Hotel Sold

A group of New York-based investors has purchased the Discovery at Marigot Bay Hotel in St Lucia. according to 7th Heaven Properties, which brokered the deal.

The group has tapped Capella Hotels and Resorts to manage the property, which is set to open in September 2014 following “significant upgrades and improvements.”

The 124-room hotel is set on St Lucia’s Marigot Bay.

“I am pleased with the introduction of the Capella Hotels Brand to St Lucia. Capella Hotels, we believe, will be ideal to the product line in St Lucia and should add to the accolades that St Lucia as a tourism destination has generated over the past few years,” St Lucia Tourism Minister Lorne Theophilus said in a release.

Capella has hotels and resorts around the world, including in Bangkok, Washington, DC and Ixtapa in Mexico, among other locations.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
