A World Bank team will visit Grenada next week to begin the first round of consultation on the development of an OECS “Regional Partnership Strategy.”

The partnership strategy “seeks to align the World Bank Group’s support to member countries’ short and medium development priorities,” according to a statement.

The Eastern Caribbean strategy will encompass the six independent territories of the OECS, intended to promote cooperation with other development partners.

The World Bank team will be in Grenada for a two-day consultation to “get a clear sense of Government’s priorities, a broad idea of the interests of the various sectors and also some specific projects Grenada would like to have in the pipeline for the period 2015 to 2019,” according to a government statement.

The team will include representatives from World Bank sectors including sustainable development, poverty reduction and economic management, among others.
