Sprinting superstar Usain Bolt finished second in the men’s 100M at the Rome Diamond League meet on Thursday, beaten out by one one-hundredth of a second by America’s Justin Gatlin, who has been very strong in the 100M in the early part of the season.

Gatlin finished third in the men’s 100M in London last year.

It’s not the first time the six-time gold medalist has been beaten in the Diamond League — Bolt lost to fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake last year.

But Bolt wasn’t worried following the race, telling his followers on Facebook “Fret not myself Bolt world or be worried.”

“Thanks for all the support and believe me when I say #iwillbeback,” he wrote.

Bolt, who was Caribbean Journal’s co-sportsman of the year in 2012, still posted his season-best time.

France’s Jimmy Vicaut finished third.

Bolt began his season by winning the 100M at the Cayman Invitational last month, although he finished in 10.09, relatively sluggish for the Trelawny native.

He has been struggling with a hamstring issue in recent months, something that led him to withdraw from the Jamaican International Invitational earlier this year.
