JetBlue began operating its new service from the Northeastern United States to Grand Cayman Thursday.

The air carrier, which has been increasing its presence in the Caribbean, is now servicing Grand Cayman from New York’s John F Kennedy Airport and Boston’s Logan Airport.

Service from New York will be three times weekly, while the Boston service will include a weekly Saturday flight.

Destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean make up almost a third of JetBlue’s route network.

At the beginning of the month, JetBlue launched service to Cartagena, Colombia, and yesterday began service to Samana in the Dominican Republic.

The JFK flights depart at 7 AM, while the Boston flights depart at 10:25 AM.
