Haitian President Michel Martelly will return to Haiti on Monday, following two weeks of absence after shoulder surgery, the National Palace announced Friday.

Martelly, who underwent surgery on his shoulder earlier this month at a Miami hospital, had to return to Florida after suffering what was eventually determined to be a pulmonary embolism.

The surgery prevented him from attending the Sixth Summit of the Americas in Cartagena.

The President’s health is now stable, according to his medical team.

Martelly will hold a press conference at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport upon his return to Haiti on Monday.

Earlier this week, the President said he was impatient to return to Haiti and had been waiting for authorization to travel from his doctors.
