Guyana’s Ramotar Names New Cabinet

New Guyanese President Donald Ramotar has named his new cabinet, with Prime Minister Samuel Hinds and 19 Ministers sworn in this morning.

Most Ministers retained their positions under former President Bharrat Jagdeo, including Foreign Minister Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett and Finance Minister Ashni Singh.

Guyana’s PPP/C won last Monday’s election, however it will rule with a minority government after failing to secure a majority of votes.
